Home / Business Connect Implementation
After the construction of the optical distribution network (ODN), the next step involves the installation of the network in individual homes and businesses. Overall, the installation process aims to ensure that each home and business is seamlessly connected to the ODN, enabling reliable and high-speed internet connectivity as well as other services dependent on the optical network. NexGen ensures a successful installation of fibre and CPE, providing customers with reliable high-speed internet connectivity and other services that depend on the fibre optic network.
1. Service Activation: Once the ODN is in place, NexGen initiates the process of activating the optical network at each location. This involves configuring the necessary connections and ensuring that the network is operational.
2. Fibre Installation: Technicians install fibre optic cables, either underground or overhead, that connect the ODN to the premises of homes and or businesses. These cables are usually connected to optical network terminals (ONTs) or other relevant equipment inside the premises.
3. Indoor Cabling: Technicians may also install indoor cabling to connect the CPE to various devices within the home or business. This may involve routing cables through walls, ceilings, or floors to ensure a secure and tidy setup.
4. Equipment Setup: Once the fibre connection is established, technicians set up the necessary CPE, which can include optical network terminals (ONTs), routers, switches, and other related networking devices. The CPE serves as the interface between the fibre optic network and the customer’s internal network.
5. Testing and Troubleshooting: After the installation is complete, technicians conduct thorough testing to ensure that the network is functioning properly. This includes testing internet connectivity, network speed, and overall reliability. They also address any potential issues or connectivity problems that may arise during the installation process.
6. Customer Training and Support: As part of the installation process, technicians may provide basic training to customers on how to use the installed equipment and troubleshoot common issues. They may also offer support services to address any concerns or questions that customers may have.
